Categories Widget

I know their is a default widget called “categories” that comes with wordpress, and it does kind of what I need, but not soo much…
I am really needing a widget to do what the “categories” widget does with a dropdown menu of categories to allow users to choose from, but I also want to exclude some categories from that drop down menu..

Anyone know of such a thing? I am in need of it.
