• wordpress wont install..

I keep getting the error below..
I have checked all the settings about 20 times..
    and i re-loaded it twice..
been struggling for about 2 days now..

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

    thank you for your support.

  • Are you using cPanel? If yes probably you just put the username and database name based on what the name you create on MySQL option on cPanel. For example you put “database1” for your database name and “username1” for your username but actually the real database name is actually
“your cpanel username”_database1 and “your cpanel username”_username1 for your username. I think all cPanel work like that. It will automatically add your cpanel username in front of your database name and database username. So when you trying to install WP you should put the name that been given by cPanel. Hope this will help you.
