Hi., I have recently upgraded to WordPress 2.3.3 and have started using the template tag wp_tag_cloud in my theme.

I have used the number parameter to limit the size of the cloud to a maximum of 35 tags so that the cloud fits an available space. WordPress has decided which 35 tags to display out of the total number of tags in my blog.

As expected, if I create a new tag that is not currently in the cloud and it only has a post count of, say, 1 it doesn’t get displayed in the cloud because the 35 tag display limit I set has been reached.

My question is this…. If I create a few new posts over the coming days that bump-up the post count of a tag that isn’t currently in the tag cloud, will WordPress automatically add it to the cloud by removing an older tag that has a smaller post count?

OK, I guess nobody noticed my question.

I just thought I’d add that, as of today, I’m using the plugin Simple-Tags by Amaury Balmer.
This plugin appears to extend the inbuilt WordPress 2.3.x tagging system nicely to meet my current basic requirements.

    Regards,
    Jules.
