Are you running a WordPress multisite install?
No I’m not running a multisite install?
Try:
– switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
– running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php
Is resetting the plugins deactivating them all? I can access everything in the admin area except for the wordpress dashboard page. I wasn’t sure if I made that clear previously. Under Dashboard there are only the bbpress dashboards.
Please re-read my post above. None of the suggestions made require you to login to your WordPress dashboard.
I understand that but I can login in using wp-admin but can’t access the dashboard page.
Your post above sounds like I am replacing my existing wordpress install and uploading a brand new one. Is that the case and if so is that the only option for an issue like this? If so I will try it but it makes me worry that other issues can arise.
No – you are not replacing your existing WP install. Just uploading a fresh set of core files, confirming that your update to WP 3.6 was fully completed and removing any potentially problematic plugins or theme.
This did not work and I have since upgraded to 3.6.1 and still get a message that I don’t have sufficient permissions to access dashboard or other areas of the site that an admin should have access to and I’m logged in as the admin.
hi , did you manage to get this to work? as i am experiencing the same problum 🙁
No unfortunately it is not fixed. I still get a message that I don’t have sufficient permission to access my dashboard and I can’t use JetPack because I don’t have sufficient permission to connect and I can’t access other parts of my site that as admin I should be able to access.
I’m still hoping someone will help me out.
Looks like you still have your theme and plugins active – could you please change those back to OFF again – you need to do so using FTP to access the files on the server.
I have a similar problem since upgrading to 3.6.1. I cannot access my dashboard. Everytime I try I get an error like this:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/scforg/public_html/wp/wp-admin/includes/ms.php on line 584
Has anyone any ideas?
I have changed the theme and plugins folder as requested above. I just get a blank white page when going to my website. What do I need to do now?
