Database backup – phpMyAdmin vs native export

    I’ve read all the options for doing a back up on the backups page in the Codex but it doesn’t mention the native database export function in the Dashboard.

    I’d like to do a full back up but I have no control panel access – only have FTP access and WP logins. Is the Tools > Export option sufficient? It has worked for me for local installations, I’m just being cautious.

    MySQL Workbench should do what you need – as long as you have the database name, URL, user name and password.
