I’m a user of the W3 Total Cache plugin and just wanted to note for others that it interacts inconsistently with TEC.

In my case, I was creating some custom CSS (per Modern Tribe’s instructions), and those customizations weren’t appearing, even after clearing the cached version of that particular page. Couldn’t say exactly why — CSS changes applying to any page that wasn’t an event took effect immediately — but folks should bear in mind that if they’re using TEC and a caching plugin that they’ll want to disable the latter while working on CSS. In W3 Total Cache’s case at least, clearing the site-wide cache works as well.

Not a criticism of either plugin, just a quirk…it’s the first time I’ve seen CSS cached server-side (I guess?) instead of solely page content. Doing some research I see that’s not an uncommon problem, but TEC was the first time the issue has ever come up for me.

  • Thanks for the tip – I’m not sure why that would happen either, our stylesheets (and scripts for that matter) are enqueued in the normal way – but hopefully this helps someone else out with the same issue.

    Cheers!
