Visual Editing Problem

I have no access to a visual editor for my posts or my pages. I had no idea about there even being an option to visually edit until I read about it on a website earlier.

I use parabola for my theme and when I try and edit either a post or a page there is no option visible anywhere on the page to a ‘visual editor’ pleas help!
