• or is it because I’m a newbie and and am hoping someone falls for this and helps out πŸ™‚
    xe.com’s currency converter
I want to put the above into a WordPress based site but its made with tables and font tags etc very ugly and not xhtml
What I am hoping is that someone who knows what they are doing might like to help me make it tableless..
My skills with CSS are very limited and leave a lot to be desired but I am learning.
Even if someone could just point me in the right direction I will give it a crack but don’t know really know where to start.
The page I’m looking at converting is at http://www.xe.com and I want to try and get it to work in a page I’m mucking around with which is at sailingholiday.
Fingers crossed that someones really boored and feels sorry for a newbie
    Anyone?
i bet this will get a lot of lookers πŸ™‚

  • One direction: keep utilizing table for tabular data.

    alphaoide:
to be honest I don’t know the heck tublar data is!
I’ll just keep learning and hopfully will find the answer πŸ™‚
I’ve got the currency converter working and the css almost right but I’ve now got issuse’s with xhtml validity.
How would one go about using forms in posts and keeping the pages xhtml compliant?
I’m now off to find out about “attribute value specifications” and “shorttag’s” to make the page valid!

Ok this is just an update for this stupid thread I started:
Thanks alphaoide, I found out what tabular data is πŸ™‚
I managed to get the currency converter working in this blog (valid xhtml and css)
but when I tried it in another blog it says that its not valid? (well it is valid in xhtml but the css says that its not?)
From what I can tell it has something to do with linebreaks?
is there a way to stop the linebreaks in posts am I on the right track?
… or am I better off making a static page to put it on then insert it into my post?
The reason I’m doing all this is just to see if it can be done and then learn how to do it.
At the end of the day I want to put a form in a post like this one, have it as a sticky in its categorie but allow a new posting to show in that categorie (but not the homepage!..)
    thanks
