I want to use this to place on my home page, i am adding just a simple update widget of events but the text goes HUGE and BOLD. if the same widget is put in a sidebar, this text is small and thin in a regular thickness. Is there anyway to prevent this going bold? It looks awful

Hi there,

Most of the styles come from your theme. The only way to fix how it looks in different parts of your theme is to do some custom CSS work. Each sidebar you create has its own css class name that you can find in Firebug for instance.
