wp-db-backup/plugin attempt to create directory (1 post)

    Am using CuteFTP8. Under "edit" is "group select" with an asterisk for "select mask", which I assume is the group my FTP client uses.

    At www\blog\wp-content, I right-click and go to Properties/CHMOD where group read is already selected. I select write & execute, apply and say OK.

    I've also typed this up but don't know what to do with it:
    $ cd /blog/
    $ chgrp * wp-content
    $ chmod g+w backup

    Any help would be appreciated: I'm 2 weeks into WordPress and am in over my head, but firmly grasping the lifeboat.
