I have installed the latest version of SP Client Document & Project Manager (1.8.4) and I cannot see the folders either from the backend or from the frontend. From the frontend, if I upload a file in a specific folder, it lists the file as if it wasn’t in the folder, although from the dropdown menu you can clearly see the different folders/projects. I have installed the plugin on another WP installation with a basic out-of-the-box theme and still does not work.
I thought that the possibility of organising files in folders was a functionality of the free version, or is it only for the premium version?
Has someone had the same problem? I send an email to support but no reply after 24 hours…

Hi Rob, please deactivate and activate the plugin to ensure the database is installed correctly. Also go to settings and make sure project folders are enabled.

    Hi,
I did that but still no luck. I have also deactivated all plugins except for yours and still the same issue. I have changed theme with one of WP standard one and it is still not working. I have also downloaded the premium version did all of the above and still no luck. Folders and icons for deleting them appear briefly when I am loading the page but then I can only see the file I have uploaded outside the folder. Any idea why?

    Hi Rob69

I also encountered the same problem however it was only when the Admin created the folder. Are the missing folders ones created by the admin? see mu update http://wordpress.org/support/topic/folders-not-visible-in-uploader?replies=4

Been trying to get some sort of feedback from support to see if they replicated the problem?

    Let us know

    Hi geraldjim,
you are right. If I create folders as admin, they do not show regardless whether I create them for the admin user or for other non-admin users. This is not good as only the admin can create folders from the backend. However if these are not visible, then it defies the purpose. I am also waiting for a reply from support…

    Hi Rob69,

On one level I am glad you got the same problem but on another level I an sorry tyou have the same problem. SmartyPants Support got back to me last night and I just sent out the details of my server. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

    Fingers crossed πŸ™‚

Got the latest new version Version 3.0.3.6 & Version 1.8.9 and the problem is still there.

I been doing some more testing and I realised the files are getting uploaded but for some reason the folder created by the admin is not displayed. If you look at the log or the e-mail notification sent out the file exist and you can view it’s properties and even add comments.

But you simply cannot view it.

    Hi Geraldjim,
the other day I gave support access to my backend and they fixed the problem however only on the Premium trial version. Now I have installed the updated version of the free and trial version and both are working fine for me. Have you tried deactivating all plugins, then activating only the SP plugin and see if it works?

    Hi Rob69,

The problem finally got resolved in 1.9.2. Working well – thanks for letting me know.

I just downloaded the latest version of the free plugin (1.9.5) and I am having the problem you have described. Very frustrating that it would work for some, not work for others, get fixed, work for some, not work for others, etc.

Also, does anyone know if there is a way to use this plugin on top of an existing directory structure and import the structure and the files? I really don’t want to have to create folders manually and upload lots of files manually.

I am having this same problem with the latest version. Is there anything that can be done or needs to be changed to get this working?
    Thanks

I too face same problem. folder created by admin not shown. I tried creating folder in demo user but failed

Same issue here. Can create folder as admin user, but doesn’t show anywhere. Can’t create a folder as a logged in user (non admin). Also, plugin is not separating files based on user, so all users see all files(!)
