• Plugin pages show how many people think each version of the plugin works (or doesn’t) on each version of WordPress, and that’s really great. Forum threads are linked to the plugin name as a tag, and that’s also great.

However, when a new plugin comes along and 2 out of 18 people say it doesn’t work, it’s useful to know what problems this particular combination has, and that’s not possible at the moment.

I suggest that any post in the Plugins and Hacks forum be required to supply the version of WordPress and the version of the plugin relevant to the thread. I also suggest making these attributes searchable in a simple way to allow others to find them more quickly.

In general, by the way, although I try to find matching threads before posting, because the main method – keyword search – is so ineffective, I’m pretty sure that providing more advanced search capabilities will reduce the volume of posts on the forum, while improving the quality of the support.

    Best regards,
    Gal
