renaming blog directory…

    Just a quick question…

    I want to rename my blog directory from wordpress to lounge. I already know how to do this, my question(s) is will this effect SEO? My permalinks will remain the same as they are now… correct?

    If you think the permalinks will remain the same – then you don’t know how to do it 🙂

    example.com/wordpress is not the same as example.com/lounge

    so, NO, your permalinks, of course, will not be the same.

    So if you have an established site, is it recommended to rename the directory?

    Yes 5115, it gives a more professional look and feeling to the site.

    Okay, ähem, i want to do the same, but don’t know, how to do it. The last time i’ve tried i messed up my blog completely, couldn’t login anymore and had to re-install everything. So is there a quick “how to” for noobs?
