Yes, it definitely is compatible with 3.6.

I haven’t had an opportunity to go through all my plugins and update the readme files. I usually update the compatibility along with feature updates, and will soon be adding more features to Display Posts Shortcode: https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/pull/27

Hi There, I have tried with 3.6 does not work, I tried with another hard code short code hack, does not work as well,
it will only show all the posts and not the categories you want, (both this plugin and the hack)

I think there is a change the to the naming structure in 3.6 code with categories

    I installed on 3.5 WP site, perfect…
    Thanks

As described above, this plugin absolutely works with WordPress 3.6.

It sounds like a plugin or your theme is interfering with how WordPress does queries. First, activate the default theme (TwentyThirteen). If the plugin works, that means the issue is in your theme.

If it still doesn’t work, deactivate all your plugins. If it works, turn on each plugin individually and then test. When you find the one that causes the issue, please post it here so others know as well.

I have updated two sites to WP 3.6 and use Display-Posts-Shortcode on both sites… without any problem.
Can confirm this from my side now.

    mmmmmmmmmmmmm

    no go for me…

turned of everything all plugins (except display short code) – templates etc..

It will only show all categories in posts –

the image is showing etc – just wont show categories,

This hosted on IP address for now, could that have something to do with it?

    Thanks

Got this working – jury is out on what happened, I may have made a code snippet change and not got that right, I also have an issue the webhost not allowing file editing without errors, If I edit any file it throws an error, I had to do with Cpanel file editor….

    this is working for me… [display-posts category=”mycat” include_excerpt=”true” image_size=”thumbnail” wrapper=”div”]

    thanks for the help…

    cheers
