    Hello:
I’m new to WordPress and re-building a non-profit site. We have a users database already of members, registration/login pages with WP ApproveUsers and User Role Editor plug-ins. Can Participants Database run outside of a current Users database? We could really use the volunteer sign-up application in a number of different ways and then generate and track specific volunteer lists. Does Particpants have to be the only user database on a WordPress site? Thanks for a well documented, supported and and valuable plug-in, most of all, your understanding if the answer to my question is so simple, it’s laughable….

The plugin doesn’t interact with or affect the WordPress site users at all, so the two do work at the same time. It is a completely separate database that can be used for any purpose–not just people but anything. It was developed to pretty much do what you are looking for.

xnau. Great! I think we’ll be able to use this. I’m talking with our developer about it. As you know, for a “non-profit”, having people come forward with their generosity of time and gifts of ability is always important, we’ll find a way to also make that invitation personal which is also important but now we’ll be able to use the database(s) to help us co-ordinate everyone accordingly. A great tool. I assume I can build various databases for different events, etc. We’ll check it out.
