Support » Fixing WordPress » Since 3.6 get 2 home pages when using static page

  • Hi:

I do custom themes. When setting up I download a new WordPress install and initially use the default theme: twentyten etc. and now twentythirteen. I use static pages for the homepage so I first create an empty page and call it “Home”, and then create a placeholder place for the blog “blog”, then in settings, select static home page and pick “Home” for the homepage and “blog” for posts. I create pages for all the site pages. Later, when I upload my custom theme and activate my custom menus, all the pages are there to start working with.

Since 3.6 when I do this I end up with 2 home pages listed in my list of pages and in the menus. Has something changed that I need to do differently? Should I name the homepage something else? Where is this other home page coming from?

    Thanks
