Hi, I have never used sitemap in this plugin because too many in the past report some issues either with their theme or other plugins. I love this plugin don’t get me wrong but for sitemap I use another plugin.

Yes I no also use another plugin for the sitemap, in the past I had also errors with the sitemap only. for the rest I really need SEO by Yoast, because some functions are important. I use for the sitemap no Google xml sitemap. But if the sitemap from Yoast will work soon again, than I will use it I guess .. or not 🙂
The good thing on yoast sitemap was the images that are showing in the sitemap, I can’t find that function in another sitemap plugin
Hello yes I know what you mean. That option is great and having to add another plugin just for the sitemap increases server usage. This is one of the most important SEO plugin on the market. It would be the most perfect plugin if the sitemap worked flawlessly 🙂
