Filter Custom Post Type with URL

    I’m hoping someone can help me figure out the best way to do this.

    I have a custom post type but I want to be able to only display certain ones based on the URL.

    For example the post type is “Cars” and I want to have urls that could be /cars/blue/ and that would only list blue cars. Also I would like to be able to specify the default so if someone goes to just /cars/ I could specify which color to display instead of all of them.
