More "Featured" images on the home page | WordPress.org

Is there a way to add more “Featured” images to the home page? Instead of just 3 in one row, can we make 5, or even 6 in the one row, doesn’t matter is we need to sacrifice the size of each (make them smaller) in order to fit them all in?

@nikeo has said not some time ago, as it’s hard-coded that way. You would need to re-code.
