Not working and the author won't give support

After installing the plugin, I spent a long time customising the look of the counter on single posts. When I was going to include it on the index page, I realised the counter didn’t work at all, as every post was getting the same count.
Then having a look at the support area on the author’s site, I saw he’s no longer (for many months) answering the support requests.
