wp_options table crashed, but site up?

    This morning my website was unavailable except for the dreaded “error connecting to database” warning.

    I edited the wp-config.php file to repair the database.

    After doing so, it said all the tables were OK, except:

    The wp_options table is not okay. It is reporting the following error: Table is marked as crashed. WordPress will attempt to repair this table…
    Failed to repair the wp_options table. Error: Table is marked as crashed

    However, the site is back online. That has me confused – is there really an error with the database? (If so, then why is the site back up?) Not sure what to do, and any help would be deeply appreciated.
