• My menu is basically categories, then as I write blog posts, I categorise them and they are sorted under my menu headings.

But I have a few pages, that I would alos like to appear, exactly like a post, in a catagory!
I was suprised to see my normal friendly catagory chooser was not there on the page editor.

Other than copying the contents of my pages and pasting them into blog posts, (and setting the date way back in time so they dont appear today) is there a way to just add a page to a catagory?

  • WordPress Pages do not use categories full stop. Why not create a custom menu instead?

What I do is write custom loops for pages, and then I will display posts from a single category on a page. Then I hide those categories from my main loop. It works really well. I never use plugins. It is all done using WP functions.

I’ve even gone so far to style the css so some pages will look like a long list, but are actually multiple posts. By doing this I can have recent posts from the category assigned to that page displayed in my sidebar.
