Featured image deleted – returning every time I update a post
-
Hi folks hopefully someone can help, there are two issues!
1) I had a couple of plugins onboard that I thought might be causing this problem – Zemanta and Auto Post Thumbnail, however deactivating them is making no difference. After I “permanently delete” a featured image as soon as I update the post it comes back in to the featured image thing and the item recrated both in the media manager and on the file system.
The featured image is relating to an embedded image in the post: item2) Originally I deleted it because the excerpt was just showing the place holder, in any browser, and I gave up as I couldn’t work out why it wasn’t showing, assuming it was another one of those WP things that you need to ignore and work around or live with.
This was the featured image:
and the featured image which gives a 404.But it is there.
It appears then that the fact of it not showing, is nothing to do with WP because I can download it again from that address using Filezilla – so it is definitely there and it is definitely editable or viewable in any graphics program on my local system.
If I look at the source for the page it shows the url exactly as per the url showing in Filezilla. For posterity the url in Filezilla is ftp://…/public_html/virtualenergy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/300px-Enrique_Pe%C3%B1a_Nieto_-_World_Economic_Forum_on_Latin_America_2010-150×150.jpg
File permissions are 644
My head is spinning!
