disappearing Navigation (custom menu) on search results page
-
Hi. I ‘ve encountered a rather odd instance where my navigation disappears when i search the portfolio items. I am using the plugin “WP Custom Search” in order to filter out a search results for ONLY the portfolio items. I am using this plugin in conjunction with “Private Blog” in order to make the portfolio posts (Internal – private) and the regular blog posts (External – public).. I mention this only because it might have something to do with the current issue.
Basically, when you go to a blog page and search, you receive the correct search results of only the (external) blog posts and, when you go to the portfolio and do an (internal) search (after entering password for access) you get the correct filter of results for only the internal (portfolio) posts.. it all works perfectly.. However, when you get the internal (portfolio) search results there is no navigation.. It somehow disappears…
I have tried disabling all the other plugins to see if there is a conflict. I’ve even contacted the developers of the theme i’m using and they couldn’t figure it out.. They directed me to seek help from the developers of the search plugin.
The site link http://198.63.50.181/wordpress/
The external posts http://198.63.50.181/wordpress/bco-blog/
The internal posts http://198.63.50.181/wordpress/employee-portal/
-use “cpa” for access. Then try a search from both the internal and external posts and you will find that on the internal search the navigation simply disappears..
Thank you so much for your help

I am having the same issue.
I have the plugin istalled on a site using a child theme to TwentyTwelve.
When I use the regular search box from (located inthe sidebar of the pages with sidebars) and type in “Austin” iI get a results page with the navigation showing. http://arborprop.com/?s=Austin
When I use the Custom Menu Search using the dropdown for the city “Austin, TX” I get a results page with no menu navigation. http://arborprop.com/?search-class=DB_CustomSearch_Widget-db_customsearch_widget&widget_number=preset-default&cs-city-0=Austin%2C+TX&cs-zip-1=&cs-Bedrooms-2=&search=Search
I have checked theCSS and the problem seems to be in the responsive menu toggle.
Regular search results for the page include this code for in the HTML for the header nav:
<nav id="site-navigation" class="main-navigation gradient" role="navigation"> <h3 class="menu-toggle">Menu</h3> <a class="assistive-text" href="#content" title="Skip to content">Skip to content</a>
And then the div shows holding the menue items and the closing nav tag.
Th html for the custom search results in:
<nav id="site-navigation" class="main-navigation gradient" role="navigation"> <h3 class="menu-toggle" style="display: none; ">Menu</h3> <a class="assistive-text" href="#content" title="Skip to content">Skip to content</a> </nav>
Note that
display:none;
is in this result.I have not been able to determine what it is about the plugin that is causing this. Please help!
