I see that this plugin works up to version 2.3.1. Wasn't sure if that was why I was having issues.
Has anyone else tried Ext JS Admin Menu? My menus disappear when I activate the plugin, both primary and sub menus.
Do I need to upload something else, more files to other directories other than the provided plugins files for the plugins folder?

I have deactivated it now but would like to know if there is some way around this problem as it looked like a good plugin - from the screenshots.

Very often the problem is caused by lack of json php extension: No json generated no extjs menu. Should work on php 5.2 (json extension is included into php core)
