  • I would also like to be able to use both a link and a tooltip. To have to create a link in each tooltip is an extra step. They should just be able to link from the map area and see the tooltip.

You can take advantage of a browser’s ability to display a tooltip from a <title> tag by entering text in the “Settings” box while editing the Image Map area. On my WP installation, it appears in the right column just below the ‘Highlight’ section.

When you enter text in that Settings box and save the map area, you will see a simple tooltip appear when you hover over that area. Then, in the Mouse Event area, choose Popup Window and enter images + text in the editing area to appear in the popup.

It actually works pretty well, although I’d prefer to have more control over it.

It’s not the same thing at all.

I understand it’s not the same thing, but you can use the title tag as a workaround.

I’m trying to figure out how to display the nicely formatted jQuery tooltips AND make the area link to a popup image. Currently, the WP plugin uses radio buttons to choose either a link, a tooltip OR a popup window. It appears the original jQuery imageMapster is set up to do just that. Looks like the developer doesn’t frequent these forums very often to assist with questions.

    Must dig a bit deeper.
