[Plugin WP Easy PHP Calendar Admin] can't figure out root directory (11 posts)

    I've tried every possible directory input I can think of and still can not get anythng but a 404 error

    "Not Found
    The requested URL /public_html/events/index.php was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

    The above directory input was just one of many...

    What I don't understand is why does it keep putting /events/index.php after the root directory... because in looking through the program I see no events directories or files.

    Assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    I am having the same problem and have the same questions. It's looking for a directory 'events/index.php' that wasn't created on the installation.

    Thanks for any help I can get.

    Have you purchased and installed the http://www.easyphpcalendar.com software?

    no. I've only downloaded the WP Plugin

    I guess if you don't want to purchase easyphpcalendar you need to look for another plugin.

    Why is easyphpcalendar offered on the WP free Plugin directory if you are instructing us to purchase it?

    Additionally, there were no instructions that a license had to be purchsed in the install info provided. Shouldn't WP adjust or remove this plugin from their directory? I've spent literally hours trying to figure this out... I may have happily paid if instructed but now i'm feeling easyphpcalendar owes me money...

    I am the developer of this plugin and first of all, I'd like to clarify that the people who sell Easy PHP Calendar have nothing to do with the creation of this plugin, so please don't be upset with them!

    I am a user of Easy PHP Calendar (a piece of software that costs $20) and was looking for an easy way to integrate the backend of that with my Wordpress backend, so I created this plugin. All it does is integrate the backend of Easy PHP Calendar into the Wordpress admin area. I guess it's not clear enough in the description so I have updated the description on the plugin page.

    Hello Jazbek,

    Thank you for responding and clarifying what this plugin is... I read the description again to see if your new wording made it clear to me (a WP beginner and so lingo challenged) what this plug in is... and without reading the feedbacks I still would not understand that this is not the calendar itself. Rememer... newbie here...

    May I humbly suggest that you make a clearer note saying something to the point that this plug in is used in conjunction with the purchase of easyphpcalendar and assists in the administration of the software in WordPress? That it is not the easyphpcalendar software, just an WP administrative add-on...

    Hi Deborah, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I have updated the description of the plugin in the README file, and that's what's supposed to be reflected on the website, but my changes are not showing up on the plugin page. I think there might be some kind of problem with the wordpress plugin site.. in any event, here is what I wrote for the description, I think it should be clear enough:

    "Adds the Easy PHP Calendar events administration and setup administration to the Wordpress admin area.

    NOTE: This plugin does NOT add a calendar to your Wordpress installation. It is only for use with Easy PHP Calendar, a piece of software that costs $20 and is available from http://www.easyphpcalendar.com/."

    ..I'll try to figure out why it's not showing on the plugin page.

    Thank you for adding the clarifications! :-) I returned to the Easy Php Calendar install project and have found install and set-up success this time around. :-)
