Upgrade Fails- PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10)

    I just tried to upgrade to 3.6 this AM using the dashboard update panel and received the following error:

    The package could not be installed.: PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature.

    I recently had the same error when trying to upgrade Jetpack and NEXTGEN Gallery plugins. Though other plugins upgraded just fine.

    That sounds like a server/hosting issue. You may have to upgrade WordPress manually.

    Thank you for your quick response. Any guidance on what is going on so that I can fix it with my host?

    I’m afraid I don’t have much to offer as there are many reasons why this could happen. The server may simply be very slow. Or it’s connection to the outside world could be dodgy. Have you spoken to your hosts about it?

    The host is my next step. I was hoping I could have some specifics to direct them, as they can be kind of clueless.
