Can't create blog page

Hi,
I’m trying to create my first ever blog page on a site I’m developing. I created a new page, selected Blog Excerpt (summary) from the drop-down menu, entered some text and saved.

When I view the site, I see “Our Blog” in the menu, which is what I titled the entry. When I click on that in the menu, I get a 404 error page. Interestingly enough, if I enter “blog” in the search field on the 404 page, I do get taken to the blog entry.

Can’t understand what I’m doing wrong. The URL is http://www.baggettfamilyfarm.com.

And, in general, I’m afraid I don’t understand how the blog page works. Whatever I type into the title when I’m adding the page is what appears in the menu. I though there’d be a title like Our Blog and then on the page I could keep putting new entries in with their own titles.

I was wondering whether in the codex there’s a place that explains these most basic elements of creating a blog. I’ve searched but can’t find anything.
