    Hi! SSH SFTP Updater Support is a great plugin but I have a problem uploading zip themes or plugin file using wordpress multisite 3.5.2.

    After upload the file worpdress returns this error

    “Upload plugin/theme “File is empty. Please upload something more substantial”.

    The workaround is to upload manually using SFTP connection.

    That’s not a size limit problem because I have the same problem with very light plugin file.

    Try replacing your sftp.php file with this one:

    http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/ssh-sftp-updater-support/trunk/sftp.php

    Hello,
    I am having the same problem as mentioned above.
    When I was going to upload a plugin it would return:
    “Upload plugin/theme “File is empty. Please upload something more substantial”.

    I found this thread, and replaced the sftp.php file with the one linked above.
    I uploaded that to my server, and made sure the owner and permissions were set just as the original sftp.php

    Now I’m getting a different error, which is a “504 Gateway Time-out”

    Any idea what I can try?

    This plugin is great and must-have for new installs where security concerns prevent regular port 21 FTP.

    After applying the patch above, it seems to work fine for me on WP 3.9.1, so could the plugin author please update the “supported” version # to 3.9.1, and incorporate the “File Empty” fix above from the trunk on a new dot release?
