Support » Fixing WordPress » Editing comments (and posts?)

  • I’ve noticed something very weird about WordPress: it doesn’t allow me to edit or delete some older comments (or even articles I think) from the WP interface. As a long time b2 user, in which you could just edit or delete anything you’d like, I’m wondering if this is a bug or a feature. I hate having to go into phpMyAdmin to delete spam or typo’s.

    Nobody?

How does it not let you ?
If it is that a post is not listed, you go through the display options on the edit screen.

No, the posts are listed alright. It’s just that I cannot simply edit or delete older posts, nor can I simply edit or delete comments on older posts. It’s very annoying.

Hmmmm, am I really the only one who has these problems? Or am I the only with posts this old? It’s really frustrating to have to go into PhpMyAdmin to edit posts and comments by hand… A blemish on an otherwise perfect system…

What happen when you click “Edit”, or “Delete”. Nothing at all? Refresh and throw you back to post list? Try different browsers or computers?

I think you’re the only one with that problem. What’s your user level? I think you have to be level 10 before you can do any deleting like that.

Alphaoide: There’s not even an Edit or Delete button present!
Macmanx: My user level is 10, so that shouldn’t be the problem.
I think it could have something to do with the fact that I imported hundreds of posts from my b2 log.
It wouldn’t be too much of a problem if those bloody spammers wouldn’t be around. :-S
