    Hi ccramer

Do you have a URL I can see the problem?

Generally, things that work only stop working if something’s changed. Has anything changed on your site since it stopped working?

It appears now to be counting the votes again but was throwing an error message rather than saying ‘thank you for voting’. I deleted all of the other possible messages and left ‘Thank you for casting your vote.’ on the settings page, saved it… but am not getting any message confirming that a vote was placed.

Are you using the latest version of Premium (v1.6)? I keep backwards compatibility with older versions as much as possible, but if you update NGG Voting (and you should always be up to date), you should be running the latest Premium version too. You can get the latest version from http://codecanyon.net/downloads

Although I can see which version of both the free and the Premium that I’ve downloaded I am not sure whether i’m running the free or Premium for the url i provided. It’s not on the ngg voting settings page.

In the event that I update the file WILL I LOSE THE EXISTING VOTE COUNT?

The premium works alongside the free version. Because you are using the ‘plain like’, and you’ve even uploaded an image for the like, you are definitely using the premium features (but it needs the free part to run).

Your best bet is to update the free part through the WP plugins interface (if it’s not the most up to date already).
Then update the Premium version by downloading the latest version from codecanyon, unzip it, and overwrite the the files on your site.

As long as you haven’t manually modified any of the files, you wont lose anything. All the votes are stored in the database, so you can back it up if you want to feel safe, but it’s not necessary.
