Changing archive-thumbnail featured size

I have a child theme set up based on oxygen, but have been unsuccessfully trying to change the size of the archive-thumbnail which appears at 470×140. I’ve put an index.php and functions.php in my child theme folder and changed the sizes of “archive-thumbnail featured” to 470×180, but the images still display at 470×140 even when I upload new ones after saving the changes.
