   I'm new to blogging.
   I also don't know a lot about how it all works.

   May I be part of the Amazon affiliates program
   and add pictures/links to books at Amazon that I like
   in my sidebar or within the text?

   Thanks, I couldn't find the answer on wordpress.

   Yes, you can have anything on your won blog. I mean when you have your blog hosted on your domain.

   All the questions regarding free blogs hosted at wordpress.COM - should go to their forum: http://en.wordpress.com/forums

   (we are the wordpress.ORG people)
