Support » Plugin: MultilingualPress » Manually associate translations? (RSS publishing)

  • Hi,

We have a large multilingual site which will be taking all it’s content from an RSS feed(s) and publishing it automatically using WP-o-Matic. I envisage a separate instance of WP-o-Matic per language/site which would read only the feed for that language, and as such, translated versions of an article would appear in each language as they become available on the feeds. The articles would be unconnected as far as the CMS is concerned however. So… is there any way to link them as translations of each other? Perhaps by recognizing the article ID and setting some variable when the post is saved (requires forking WP-o-Matic)? Any help appreciated!

    Cheers,

    J.R.

  • I would love to see a manual connection as well. At least a way to modify it after creation since couple of times i experienced wrong links which had, i guess, something to do with the original article title and address being different.

This is planned but not yet implemented. The upcoming version 1.1 will mostly fix existing bugs and improve performance; the following version 1.2 will offer an API to do this automatically, and maybe a visual user interface. There are other parts blocking this currently, so I cannot promise anything. It is on our list.
