Starting MAMP Servers & Creating The Database

    Hello,

    I am starting MAMP Servers & trying to creating a database.
    I have Downloaded MAMP to my MAC, and followed instructions, which have lead me to an error window which reads;

    MY SQL SAID;
    CANT CONNECT TO LOCAL MY SQL SERVER THROUGH SOCKET ‘/APPLICATIONS………../ (2) THE SERVER IS NOT RESPONDING (OR THE LOCAL SERVER’S SERVER SOCKET IS NOT CORRECTLY CONFIGURED).

    I would really appreciated some help with what the next step is the install MAMP and WordPress onto my MAC please.

    This seems like a long winded way round?
