• This one has me puzzled. I am running WP in my own domain and it has worked flawless for several months now. I access it from several machines running XP, Vista and Windows 7 with Microsoft Live Writer. The Asus netbook, running XP, has worked fine until recently It stopped accessing the goDaddy server. All the other machines work fine, including other XP boxes and can still access the site using Live Writer.

I have re imaged the Asus, reinstalled XP, Live Writer and the Asus drivers and still have the problem. The error I get says: “cant access remote server . . . cannot connect to blognameaddress/xmlrpc.php

Any help would be appreciated!!!! It’s my on the road machine so use it quite often and I REALLY like the offline editing capabilities of Live Writer!

  • It can be a problem typical to that particular machine, if all else work fine.

    Hi Krishna,
Thanks for the reply. What has me most puzzled is it worked fine on the Asus for two months and then stopped. As far as I know, I made no changes. It’s got to be something simple somewhere like a setting option!

I dont follow 100% what you are running now… You host your own domain or you have one from GoDaddy.

If you have your host-login-codes can you try install FileZilla and see if you can get access by FTP?
