Checkboxes instead of search fields in admin area?

I ‘m pretty sure that the admin area used to show checkboxes for each of your custom taxonomies that allowed you to select a term for a post in the admin area. Now, I’m just seeing searh fields that auto fill when you start typing. Is there a way to get the checkboxes back? I’d like the client I’m setting up the site for to be able to see all the available terms that I have set up.
