    Howdy jhguynn,

    Okay, lets see . . .

    Here’s what I’d try:

    1. Double-check your category slug under WP Admin > Testimonials > Testimonial Groups to make sure it’s exactly as you listed it: dual-comm-terminal
    2. Simplify your shortcode to read: [ic_do_testimonials group='dual-comm-terminal' speed='3000'] – AJAX is on by default, so no need to specify.

Let me know what you find out.

    Eric:

When I entered the two testimonial posts for dual comm terminal, I had already created the group “dual comm terminal”, which yielded the group slug dual-comm-terminal. I never created any categories under WP Admin > Posts > Categories, because I wasn’t aware that was necessary. This isn’t among the instructions listed here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/ivycat-ajax-testimonials/installation/

Is it necessary? This might prove inconvenient, since I don’t want the testimonial group names as “categories” to show up among all the other categories form my WP site.

When I go to the testimonial post itself (Testimonials > All Testimonials > post), I see a drop down to associate the testimonial with a group (i.e. dual-comm-terminal), but not with a category. How would I even make that association if I wanted to do so?

FYI: I added the code ajax_on=’yes’ only to be sure it was on (and rotating the testimonials). After removing it, same result: no rotation.

I’d appreciate some clarification about associating the testimonial post with categories -vs- groups.

    Thanks!

I completely flubbed here. It should be under WP Admin > Testimonials > Testimonial Groups. There’s no need to setup categories under posts.

I’ll modify the original response so it’s accurate.

jhguynn, here are a few other things to try:

    1. Try creating another testimonial group and assigning a few testimonials to it and see if it rotates.
    2. Verify that you can pull the testimonials in a list by using: [ic_do_testimonials group=’dual-comm-terminal’ display=’list’] – if so, and you’ve got multiple categories, you’ll know the plugin is pulling correctly from the category
    3. To determine if there’s a plugin conflict, you can disable all but the testimonials plugin to see if it rotates. If so, re-enable the plugins one-by-one until it breaks.
    4. To determine if there’s a theme conflict, you can switch temporarily to a default theme like Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve.
