• Just installed a fresh Local WP with 0 plugins active.

I started to create my theme using the template BlankSlate. I created 5 empty published pages (home, blog, portfolio, projects, contact) and each with their own individual templates (home.php, blog.php, projects.php, etc.). I created the home.php template first and then copied it 4 more times and renamed the files to their respective pages.

I assigned each page their template in the backend “Pages” page. After all this I start to modify the blog template (blog.php) and after a few changes I save it and nothing changes.

The url is correctly pointing to the blog page yet it is still showing all the content from the home.php template. After seeing this I just reassigned the Blog Page the Default Template and started to modify index.php to see if it will accept the changes…it did not.

Everything I do to try and modify any other template but the home.php doesnt show up on either pages.

Why is this? Under “Settings -> Reading” I have the “Front Page” set to “home” and the “Posts Page” set to “blog”.
