I mentioned moderator intervention because in the past, I and others have posted threads (here and throughout WordPress.org) which individual moderators have deleted because he/she/they: didn’t like them, thought they were inappropriate, thought they were posted in the wrong place, thought they weren’t necessary, or for whatever reason the moderator saw “fit”.
It’s odd when moderators moderate isn’t it? 😉
I’m being light hearted about this and honestly on a Saturday I think everyone should too.

In the past, I personally have duplicated some of my previous posts from one location within WordPress.org forums to another, after I realized that the initial thread location wasn’t viewed by the people that could actually “resolve” the issue that I or others were concerned about.
Yes. Please do not do that. Duplicate topics really does make it harder for volunteers such you and I to provide support. The conversation gets going in multiple places for the same thing. That’s never been allowed and for good reason. That’s just not productive.
As a forum participant (whether frequent or infrequent), it can kill the desire to give a darn, and want to participate at all.
I’m sorry you feel that way. But if you’re going to participate in the forums I’m positive that you can appreciate that the guidelines in the forum welcome are adhered to.

The welcome (and I really like that it’s titled “Welcome” that ’cause everyone should feel way) was put together by people (not me but as I said I like it) who gave it some good long thought.
It can also lead to the opinion that some “Moderators” (Not you…I’ve never had this issue with you) let their “Title” go to their head, and authorize them to become “Little Dictators”.
Seems that that comes with the job. Just the other day I was accused of being a “racist” for asking them to start their own topic. That was nice don’t you think? Yes I deleted that and reported the user to the list.
No one likes it when someone asks them to modify their behavior but frankly some people lose their minds at the smallest things. Calling moderators abusive, dictatorial and (my personal favorite) “power mad” is ridiculous and offensive.

How about adding a New Search Bar to the top of each Theme Forums page, so that new (and current) users can search only that theme’s forums to find answers to their questions?
I don’t think that’s bad idea but keep in mind that “Better search” has been on the To-Do list for a looong time. 😉
