I love this plugin but it would be even more awesome if new members were added to the wordpress user table . I currently use woocommerce and an events plugin and both add new customer and event signups as wordpress uers.

I want those people to be in my participation database too so that I’ve got one complete list of my contacts.

Is this something you’ve considered doing?

    thanks

Sorry I got that slightly confused. I’d like it if new users were automatically added to the participation database, not the other way round!

    thanks

    Nova,

Either way, it’s a fairly complex bit of coding to get this done. You could use the WordPress filter “user_register” to store a record in the Participants database every time a new WP user is added.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick.

Why was it you decided to create the database separate from the user table – was it to separate out contacts from website users? or id a separate approach give you more flexibility?

    thanks

    Nova,

No, it was because the purpose of the plugin was to build and maintain a record of people, not website users. There was and still is very few plugins that serve this purpose for organizations that need to keep records of people in a more informal way. For those who need tools for managing WP users, there are plugins that are better suited to that, I think.
