I like to keep an eye on my referring sites list, and this last time I checked, I noted that random sites ending with "/map.html" dominated my list of referring sites. A quick look at the spam comments Akismet caught shows the same in the URL field.
I'm wary of visiting these sites for fear of viruses and other malware shenanigans. Is anyone else familiar with this particular spamming scheme? In particular I'm concerned about these sites bearing links to mine--the comment spam they produce is of less importance, thanks to Akismet. Now I'd like to find a way to get them off my referring sites list. Many of the sites seem to have the same IP, which is handy, but that won't help if the computer accessing my pages, referred by the map.html page, is on another IP, right?
