I´m looking at rebulding my site so I need to export the user information incl user names and passwords.

And then import into the new database.

Any idea how that is done?

With WordPress your content is separate from your presentation so there is no need to worry about this is you are simply changing to a new theme or design.

You can export your members to a csv file, but this does not include their usernames and passwords. You can look in the WordPress Codex for more information about how to work with the WP database.
