Issue with Vimeo custom Privacy Settings

    I don’t know if the plugin support custom privacy settings on vimeo, I don’t find related infos so here I am.

    I’m a vimeo plus member and I’m experiencing some issues with the plugin when videos, albums, group and channels has custom privacy settings.

    My goal was to create a Vimeography gallery including some videos hidden from Vimeo.com. I’ve tried to do that experimenting different settings and I noticed different results. I try to explain myself with some example.

    e.g. #1
    Vimeo Privacy Settings – Album: visible to anyone; Video: visible to anyone.
    Result – Everything works fine!

    e.g. #2
    Vimeo Privacy Settings – Album: visible to anyone; Videos: Hide this video from Vimeo.com.
    Result – Vimeography error: the plugin could not retrieve data from the Vimeo API! XXXXXXXX not found (where XXXXXXX is the Album ID).

    Vimeo Privacy Settings – Album: visible to anyone; Videos: Hide this video from Vimeo.com; Featured Video: visible to anyone.
    Result – The gallery shows up only the featured video.

    Vimeo Privacy Settings – Channel: only moderators can view this channel; Videos: Hide this video from Vimeo.com.
    Result – Vimeography error: the plugin could not retrieve data from the Vimeo API! XXXXXXXX not found (where XXXXXXX is the channel ID).

    Vimeo Privacy Settings – Channel: visible to anyone Videos: Hide this video from Vimeo.com.
    Result – Everything works fine!

    Independently from Albums, Channels and Groups settings if the Vimeography Featured Video is private in any way this will block the Vimeography gallery. The result is: Vimeography error: the plugin could not retrieve data from the Vimeo API! XXXXXXXX not found. (where the XXXXXXXX is the featured video ID)

    My first and preferred option was to create a Vimeography gallery starting from an hidden album containing hidden videos, but it didn’t work. At the end I can achieve the same result using private channel with hidden videos and no Featured so for now I’m ok. Hope that helps someone.

    Supporting custom privacy settings could bring more value to this great plugin, but maybe it is Vimeo API related.

    Maybe I spoke too soon because in e.g #5 the gallery is showing up but the videos are not playing. I can view only the first video just if I click play on it like first “operation”, but if I click any of the thumbs I can’t play any videos, including the first.

    No chance to use Vimeography gallery with private videos (for me, for now).
