I've looked through all the instructions that I could find and I've read through as many forum posts too. I know the problem is simple, but I can't solve it.
I've downloaded the latest version wordpress 2.3.1 on my computer.
I created a MySQL database.
I pulled up the wp-config-sample.php and put the database, host name and password in it, then saved it as wp-config.php.
I downloaded the WISE-FTP and created a connection, then uploaded the files.
I pointed my browser toward http://rivkysartblog.com/wordpress/wp-admin/login.php
I get an Error 404 not found.
So, I went back to my WISE-FTP and pulled the URL out of the wp-admin/login.php file and pasted it into the browser window.
I got close. I got a window with Wordpress and some language in English, but not my kind of English. I could only read a little bit of the code. But, there were two form fields with no words beside them. I'm thinking they were probably Username and Password or Email and Password, but there's no way to be sure.
Anyway, what's going on with this setup? It's supposed to be so easy, but I've had problems for weeks because I don't know enough about MYSQL, PHP or Wordpress no matter how much I read or try to get ahead, there's more I don't know. I feel like I'm going around in circles and getting nowhere. Can someone help me figure out the setup so I can just blog and not worry about any of this anymore?
Thanks!
