• Hey Guys,

I’m using the latest version of wordpress, and like many people on this forum installed plugins like better wp security that messed with files like htaccess. I’ve since deleted any plugins I know to mess with these files, and deleted my htaccess file so that WP would rewrite it at run time.

This internal server 500 error that I’m getting seems to happen randomly (I know this not to be the case), which leads me to believe that the server is failing to execute certain operations on time and thus producing this error. PLEASE, if anyone is familiar with the specific situation I’m attempting to describe comment and shed some light on this for me. This has been very stressful, and I don’t want start toying with files like a chicken with its head cut off.

  • Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.
