I'VE SPENT 20 MINUTES TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW YOU PUT THE GOD DAMN AUTHOR IN POST. I UPGRADED MY WORDPRESS TO THE NEWEST VERSION HOPING THAT THERE WOULD BE A CHECK BOX TO DO THIS IN THE CONTROL PANEL.
SO I WENT TO SEARCH GOOGLE AND WORDPRESSES SITE. THE POST IS SO GOD DAMN VAGUE AND IS LOCKED AS SOON AS A MOD SEES IT. THERE IS NO STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO TEACH ME HOW ON THE SITE. WHAT IS THIS GARBAGE? WHY WOULD YOU REMOVE IT THE FIRST PLACE. THIS IS 100% NOT USER FRIENDLY AND I AM CONSIDERING TO NEVER USE WORDPRESS AGAIN.
oh yeah, that attitude will get you lots of help...
its your theme, not wordpress itself. 20 whole minutes huh? keep looking.
Not everyone is as tech savvy as you.
Where in the loop, which loop, what file? Some say, header.php, some say post.php and others say different.

Place this code where you want the author's name to appear:
<?php the_author() ?>
Place it in both single.php and index.php
Which loop do i put it in? Where's the loop?
So "xblitzx", I guess not everyone is a "courtesy savvy" either?
You join up and instead of saying "I'd like to do this but can't work it out. Can you help?" you just leap in, shout moan and bitch. What, are you 6? Try being a grown up and asking politely!
Either that or do what you threaten and stop using WordPress so you don't have to "ask" for help here.
I 100% agree with you gfindlay, but I was very angry at the time.
