• My site, on HostMonster, is still functioning, but my WP admin panel is totally wrecked! I’ve backed up my DB (exported it) and backed up my public_html.

Is it safe to reinstall WP over top of the existing WP to cure the issue? Does it wipe out my DB?

    Advice.

    Thanks.
    Vic

  • You would need to manually re upload files. not a auto installer as it would over write everything you had.

What exactly is going on with your WP Admin?

I may be having similar problem. I am hosting a wordpress blog on my server and everything has been working fine for years, since 2010. Suddenly, today at least, the wordpress blog and even the administration page cannot be accessed. I can see all the files on my domain in all the folders, but I cannot access the blog.

Is there something new I should know about?

    Any help would be appreciated

This site has been in production for about 5 years. I’m not sure when this issue started because I hadn’t logged into wp-admin for a while.

The actual site comes up fine, but after logging into wp-admin, I see a single-column text display of the page. I can actually use the dashboard, but needless to say, it’s a bit awkward!! 🙂

@tmucci – please start your own thread per http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post

It’s too confusing to have multiple conversations in the same thread.

okay… thanks… sorry about that…I will start a new thread

Victor, go into the dashboard. and go to updates and click reinstall now and see if that fixes your issue?
