• I created a post containing an image. As designed, the image displays under the post in the blog page. However, when I deleted that image from the post and added a different image to the post, the thumbnail for the original image still displays under the post now. This is not correct — it should display the thumbnail for the new image that I added to the post.

    The way it is coded is the following for post thumbnails priorities :
    1) if a featured image is defined, then it uses this one,
    2) if no featured image is defined, then it takes the first image attached to the post and use it as thumbnail

    In your case, as you did not define any feature image, it uses the one you included into the content first.

    You can override this behaviour by setting a featured image for your post.

    Well, I understand what you are saying, nikeo, but what I am saw is that the incorrect image — the one that I had actually DELETED from the slide — was still being displayed. And the new image that I added to the page (after deleting the first image) would NOT display, even though it was only image attached to the page. So, there is apparently some sort of bug in the logic that controls this.
